OVERVIEW We are seeking passionate and motivated professional to join our Product Management team at Garmin’s Asia headquarter in Taiwan. You’ll be working closely with Garmin consumer segment leaderships, engineering, sales marketing and cross-function teams to assist and drive our product planning and strategy with a goal for the innovation and differentiators to ultimately become products and features that our customers cannot live without. Under the supervision of Management or a Mentor, the Product Manager will be responsible for supporting the definition of new products and features by providing market research, profitability analysis, voice of customer information, and competitive analysis in a team-oriented environment. The Product Manager will focus on the product skills, Garmin values, and customer needs required to eventually become a Senior Product Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Product Development and Management •Develop and demonstrate product and feature management skills. •Understand customer expectations through hands-on usage and observations in real world situations. •Set compelling product goals aligned with Segment values and vision, resulting in a superior product experience that answers the questions 〝Why Garmin〝 and 〝Why This Product〝 •Identify essential features for a differentiated and superior product, and discern/reject overburdened or irrelevant features and products •Develop voice-of-the-customer skills through market research, competitive analysis, and customer interactions. 2. Collaboration and Planning with cross-function teams •Collaborate with Engineering and Product Segments on scope of work and prouct tradeoffs. •Assist in preparing product documents (roadmap, concept, development plan and key requirements) •Coordinate market research for end-user feedback. •Assist the product marketing team with marketing and communication plans. 3. Applying Business and Financial Skills throughout lifecycle phases •Develop and demonstrate product management business skills •Become proficient in understanding/managing various lifecycle phases: roadmap, concept, development, production and end of life in collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Sales and Marketing •Become proficient in product cost and gross margin computations and in evaluating opportunity cost •Monitor and maximize product gross margins over the life of the product 4. Communication and Product Knowledges •Evangelize the product‘s vision and unique selling points with Sales and Marketing. •Support Sales and Marketing with product knowledge and technical expertise. •Assist in training Product Support. 5. Achieve Operational Efficiency •Evaluate product cost tradeoffs with engineering against voice-of-the-customer inputs to deliver essential functions and best value while being a good steward of Garmin’s resources •Thoroughly document work in an organized manner 6. Industry Engagement •Attend industry tradeshows, customer meetings, and other events as required. •Integrate and provide feedback on products in development. 7.
