Position Overview As a member of the regional IT Infrastructure APAC team the Regional IT Engineer will provide high-quality technical support to users across Burkert’s APAC locations, ensuring seamless IT operations and efficient user experience. This role combines local IT support with collaboration on regional and global IT projects. Being a part of the regional IT team, the role involves supporting a mix of end-user hardware, software, network, and IT security systems, and participating in technology implementations and updates across the company. Key Responsibilities Local IT Support 1. User Support and Troubleshooting o Provide first and second level IT support to users in APAC, handling requests through phone, email, and ticketing systems. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve IT infrastructure support incidents, IT change management, and service requests, following global policies and standards and providing efficient and effective solutions to users. o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related but not limited to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, UC and multimedia equipment, software, and network connectivity. o Support users with M365, remote access tools and solutions, and other productivity applications. 2. Hardware and Software Maintenance o Manage installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment, including workstations, servers, mobile devices, UC- and multimedia equipment, printers as well as networking and IT security related devices. o Conduct routine checks to ensure system stability and performance, including IT system monitoring, software updates, security patches, and data backups. o Coordinate with third-party vendors and solution providers for repair or replacement of defective equipment, ensuring timely resolution of IT infrastructure issues. 3. Infrastructure Configuration and Administration o Perform changes, updates and upgrades to IT systems and applications in close coordination with IT management while adhering to existing guidelines, standards as well as the change management rules. o Configure and troubleshoot network switches, IT security appliances, wireless LAN, and remote connectivity solutions, ensuring the stability and security of network infrastructure. o Administer, configure, and support IT for regional offices’ infrastructure, network, UC, and file server infrastructure, ensuring their optimal performance and availability. o Server, Storage and Data Backup Management – plan, configure and administer physical and virtual servers, storage and data backup ensuring their smooth operation and reasonable redundancy within the IT environment. o Administer Microsoft Windows server environment including Active Directory, Entra ID and Software deployment ensuring the security and timely software updates for endpoint devices. o Assist managing and supporting the enterprise UC solution. o Assist managing access to user cloud resources (M365), shared drives, network printers, and other network resources according to IT policies and best practices. o Support Wi-Fi, LAN, and remote connectivity services to ensure secure and reliable access for users, addressing connectivity issues promptly. 4. Audit and Compliance Support o Support IT infrastructure-related audits, compliance, and security reviews and assessments, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices. Global IT Collaboration 1. Project Participation o Collaborate with the global IT team on company-wide projects, such as software upgrades, system migrations, and IT infrastructure improvements. Firewall Policy Management - coordinate with Global IT to ensure firewall policy implementation according to global standard and up to data firewall subscriptions to ensure continuity for networking and security functions. o Support implementation and roll-out of global IT initiatives in the APAC region, ensuring alignment with local requirements. o Participate in regional and global IT meetings, providing feedback and updates on the needs and challenges of the East Pacific offices. 2. Global Compliance and Security o Enforce global IT policies and standards. Ensure that corporate IT processes are known to users and are adhered to. o Conduct periodic audits of user accounts, access permissions, and security protocols to ensure compliance with global and local regulations.
