ABILITIES是日本長期照護產業的領導品牌，成立於1966年，創辦人伊東弘泰會長是日本推動身障制度的先驅者，因小兒麻痺，從小就體認到現實的不平等，但命運不順遂，反而激發出強大的生命力。年輕時便立下宏願：要幫助所有身障者自立回到社會。進而創設日本最早以「促進僱用身心障礙者人士為目的」的ABILITIES公司。

從迷你印刷公司起家，只有5名身障員工跟隨，如今日本ABILITIES公司已經是一家員工人數逼近千人的照顧輔具王國，與許多世界頂尖製造商合作，為失能者與銀髮族提供輔具研發、銷售、租賃與生活支援等服務，規劃高齡專門住宅、設立醫療法人機構、推動身障者海外旅行活動。伊東弘泰先生向不可能挑戰的精神，為全日本創建了長期醫療照護的偉大網絡，也讓ABILITIES成為眾所皆知的知名品牌。



2013年，ABILITIES正式進軍台灣，成立海外第一家分公司—「優能福祉股份有限公司」。

依循創辦人伊東弘泰先生以人為本的經營理念，引進優質的復健機器和輔具，提供無障礙空間設計、長照機構規劃、教育訓練等專業服務，期許能支援需要照護的台灣高齡長輩與身障者克服不便、維持自立生活，做出貢獻。
